Your ability to enhance the event, rather than detract from it as some photographers do, is evident in your work. "I was recently wed in the beautiful chapel at Powell Gardens. I particularly liked the way the glass walls give the effect that everyone is outside, sitting in the garden. I also knew it would be difficult for photographers to capture the beauty inside, and not dark shadows caused by the sunlight beaming in. After finding [Heartland Images'] site on the Internet, I saw a number of photographs taken of the chapel. I knew that this was a photographer who knew what she was doing!
I contacted Heartland Images and spoke with Nancy Kerr. She was very friendly and helpful. I hired her for my wedding without speaking to any more photographers. She was receptive to my needs, and did not try to push any extras she knew I did not need or could not afford. On the day of the wedding, Nancy was at the chapel before me!
After the wedding, we received our proofs in a timely manner. Each photograph was wonderful! Some of the shots looked as if they had come right out of a fairy tale. "No matter how much one prepares, there is always something the bride and groom will forget. I was expecting that, but I was not expecting the wonderful support and initiative of our photographer, Nancy Kerr. When we decided on Powell Gardens for our wedding, I wanted to make sure that our photographer was familiar with the grounds and the many Powell Gardens' rules and that she could capture the natural beauty of the gardens. Nancy surpassed all of my expectations.
First, she was able to capture an abundance of pictures even in the short time we had at Powell Gardens. Because of her experience and expertise there, we were able to get every single picture we wanted. We had several pictures of family that we wanted and I was so worried that we would not have time. She was able to get all of those pictures and also some that we had not thought of and she did it all in the short picture time allowed by Powell Gardens.
Furthermore, her familiarity with the gardens introduced us to pictures and areas that we had not even considered. She was able to take advantage of different lighting schemes and angles. She was also able to find several different areas in which to shoot photos so that we truly have an all-encompassing photo album.
Her experience with wedding photography helped ensure that we captured every moment of the evening. I had never thought of the actual strategy to cake cutting and bouquet and garter tossing. I'm sure if I left it to myself it would not have been the success it was. She was able to help us consider our plan for those events. It allowed for great pictures and great moments that everyone in the room was a part of.
Finally, she was flexible with our difficult schedules. My husband and I were living in different states during our engagement and Nancy was willing to bear with us and our weird schedules. Then, soon after the wedding we moved overseas and she was still so understanding and helpful. It took us a long time to review the proofs and send our order, and she was extremely accommodating. I cannot imagine where we would be now without that.
Photographs and videos are one of the most important things when it comes to weddings. They outlast the DJ, the food, and the sermon. Nancy made sure those wedding memories are forever preserved and I feel so fortunate to have worked with her."

When Powell referred me to Nancy, I was afraid that they may have just collected listings to refer brides to, but I thought I would give her a try.
